Maggie Heath, CH, MNLP
Hypnotherapist in Rochester, NY
Coming to a hypnotist to change something fundamental about yourself is an act of courage - it means being willing to look at something you've been struggling with and say, I want something different. Maggie believes you already have the resources you need to make that change; you may just not know how to access them yet. That belief is at the heart of the way she works.
How I Got Here
Maggie's interest in hypnosis and NLP began in college, when she volunteered for session work at an NLP seminar being held across the street from the dorm where she worked the front desk. One of the exercises was a "power circle," where an NLP practitioner anchored feelings of confidence and power to a circle on the floor - an experience thorough enough to spark a lifelong interest in hypnosis, NLP, and the way our minds work.
Over the years, whatever job she was doing - managing at a casino, training people on software, writing and designing websites - Maggie kept ending up as the person people came to for help. Eventually she realized she wanted to make that kind of work the center of her professional life.
Training and Practice
In 2001, Maggie trained professionally in hypnotherapy and NLP through Bennett/Stellar University, earning certifications in hypnotherapy, NLP, and NLP coaching. She went on to build her own hypnotherapy practice in Seattle, working with clients for about 14 years - helping people work through fears and phobias, change longstanding patterns, develop confidence, and discover possibilities they hadn't been able to see before.
- Certified Consulting Hypnotist & Certified NLP Master Practitioner - trained through Bennett/Stellar University, 2001.
- Director of Operations, International Hypnosis Association - supporting members and overseeing hypnosis and NLP course evaluations since 2018.
- Certified Hypnotist & Certified Master Practitioner of NLP - International Hypnosis Association.
After time away from practice to pursue art and spend more time with her family, Maggie returned to the hypnosis profession in a different capacity. Since 2018 she has worked with the International Hypnosis Association, where she is now Director of Operations, supporting members, developing website content, and overseeing hypnosis and NLP course evaluations. Today she's bringing all of that experience back into her own practice here in Rochester.
